Накануне вечером "Ливерпуль" одержал самую крупную в восьмом туре общего этапа Лиги Чемпионов победу, сокрушив "Карабах" со счетом 6:0.

Благодаря этому результату "Ливерпуль" завершил общий этап на третьем месте, и теперь Слот хочет стабильно играть таким образом, начиная с домашнего матча Премьер-Лиги против "Ньюкасла" в субботу.

"Это именно то, чего вы хотите, начиная кампанию в Лиге Чемпионов. Вы хотите финишировать в топ-8, потому что это помогает вам пропустить раунд. Так что мы рады сразу попасть в 1/8 финала".

"Налицо прогресс (относительно поражения 3:2 от "Борнмута"), но — при всем уважении к команде, которой мы противостояли сегодня вечером — я ожидаю, что "Ньюкасл" будет сильнее, чем "Карабах".

"Если мы сможем прибавить в обеих штрафных, любой команде будет сложно играть против нас. Однако показать это один раз недостаточно, теперь мы должны показывать это на постоянной основе", — цитирует Слота The Independent.
